The Arduino Nano is a small, complete, and breadboard-friendly board based on the ATmega328P (Arduino Nano 3.x). It has more or less the same functionality of the Arduino Duemilanove, but in a different package. It lacks only a DC power jack, and works with a Mini-B USB cable instead of a standard one.
The UNO is the best board to get started with electronics and coding. If this is your first experience tinkering with the platform, the UNO is the most robust board you can start playing with. The UNO is the most used and documented board of the whole Arduino family.
This board doesn’t use standard USB for connection with a computer, instead, it comes with Mini USB support. Tiny size and breadboard friendly nature make this device an ideal choice for most of the applications where a size of the electronic components are of great concern.
There are only few devices, which must be soldered on the board. The most complicated and time consuming operation is the cutting of the pin headers. I bought in eBay 40 pin 2.54 mm female headers, which I cut according the needed pin count. For that purpose I use small jigsaw and after that sandpaper. It can be seen that the Arduino Nano board is positioned at the edge of the conversion board to ease the access to the USB connector.
